The most advanced job on creating allskies and panoramas is the defintion of the softedges. While one slide fades out the other has to fade in to make image borders disappear on the dome screen. We spent a lot of time to work out a good solution - and finally, we found one. You are able to create softedges with an accuracy neveer seen before. There are four different kinds of masks you can apply to one image - all at the same time if you want: Azimuth, altitude as well as x- and y-direction (with regard to the slide). Fit width and appearance of the softedges to your needs. Using mathematical exact algorithms instead of approximations ChimPANzee produces perfekt aligned images in the zenith. The same algorithms can be used for creating alignment grids.
In version 3 there has been addded an advanced grid construction interface that makes it easier than ever to create any projection grid. Users do not stick to a company trying to sell so called standard grids any longer. |
